$45.00In this online workshop, long-time journalists Courtney Cowgill and Anne Bailey discuss practical tips for conveying your story effectively to the media. You’ll learn best ways to contact journalists, what to do when a reporter calls for an interview and what information television, radio and newspaper journalists need from you to best tell your story. Through practice and feedback, we’ll also help you become more comfortable with being interviewed, both on and off camera. Whether you’re a government official, a university employee, a researcher, a business owner or a non-profit staffer, this workshop will give you the confidence to tell your story clearly and concisely to the media.

Courtney Lowery Cowgill is a long-time journalist and educator. She teaches feature writing, reporting and elements of news writing at the University of Montana School of Journalism. She has reported for the Associated Press, Lee Newspapers, The Chronicle of Higher Education and the Great Falls Tribune, among others. Anne Bailey is a multimedia journalist and founding director of the Montana Media Lab. She has taught video storytelling at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, the Freedom Forum Institute and the University of Montana School of Journalism. - When is this workshop?
